Bow Nordic Team - Cross-Country Ski Equipment Information:
- What are the entry level equipment requirements to be a member of the Bow Nordic Team?
- Skate Skis (length and stiffness determined by skier weight, specific to skate skiing) & Skate Poles (just under 90% of skier height, see chart below)
- Classic Skis (length and stiffness determined by skier weight, specific to classic skiing) & Classic Poles (just under 83% of skier height, see chart below)
- Combi Boots - Boots that can be used for both skate skiing (due to ankle support & stiffness) and classic skiing (due to flex of sole)
- Bindings mounted on skis that are compatible with boots
- Other - Bike Helmet

- Skate Boots - Boots designed specificially for skate skiing (stiff sole, ankle support & upper cuff)
- Classic Boots - Boots designed specifically for classic skiing (supple fit & very flexible sole)
- Other - Roller-Skiing Pole Tips, Dedicated Roller-Skiing Poles, Water Carrier, Warm-Up/Rock Skis
- What are the options for obtaining Skis, Poles, and Boots?
- Option #1: Obtain all equipment through personal contacts and/or retailers
- Option #2: Rent all equipment for season from BHS Nordic Team:
- includes the assignment of some equipment directly to skier for the season (skate skis, skate poles, classic poles, combi boots)
- includes the use of classic skis from team fleet of "skin skis"
- costs $120, with payment required at time of rental (checks made out to "BHS Student Activities", "Nordic Team" in memo section)
- Option #3: Obtain skate equipment(skis, poles, boots) through personal contacts and/or retailers and borrow classic equipment (skin skis, poles) from BHS Nordic Team for the season
